Computer Table



This table was constructed when the need for a 30" x 60" x 29-1/2" sized table was not available for use in the computer room. Therefore this table was built to this size. The table top was constructed from new 1/2" cabinet grade birch material.

Materials
4 - 2"x4"'s 22-7/8" long.
2 - 2"x4"'s 54" long.
8 - 2"x4"'s 29" long.
1 - 1/2" thick 30"x60" birch plywood.
2 - 3/4"x1" 24-7/8" long.
2 - 3/4"x1" 54" long.
2 - 3/4"x1" 13-7/8" long.
4 - 3/4"x1" 19-7/8" long.
2 - 3/4"x1" 11-1/2" long.
2 - 3/4"x1" 14-3/4" long.
2 - 3/4"x1" 10-3/4" long.

2 - screen door molding mitered to 22-7/8" inside length. 2 - screen door molding mitered to 54" inside length.

Leg Construction
Using 8 penny Nails, nail two 2x4's 29" long together. Repeat for other three legs.

Base Construction
Cut 3/4" slots 3/4" deep in both 2x4 54" long sides on the ends, 17-1/4" from one end and 16" from the other end. Cut 3/4" slots 3/4" deep in the end of all four 2x4 22-7/8" long boards. Glue the slots together and secure the corners with two 8 penny nails.
Attach the legs to the corners of the base with five 8 penny nails on each side such that the legs are flush with the top edge of the base.

Top construction.
Glue and screw with number 6 wood screws 1" long the railings (3/4"x1") pieces to fit on the inside and outside frame to the underside of the table top. This will secure the top to the base such that the top can be removed easily later.
Tack the screen door molding to the table top edges.
Finish the table with one step oak stain with polyurethane finish.
